Kua 'Aina is a burger shop first established in Hawaii, but due to the popularity of Hawaii as a vacation destination amongst Japanese, it now have more outlets in Japan than in Hawaii. Even the official website is now in Japanese!
I walked pass one of them during my stay in Japan and I was attracted by the Hawaiian theme of the shop.
I walked pass one of them during my stay in Japan and I was attracted by the Hawaiian theme of the shop.
What was even more attractive was the food model on display. I was immediately astonished by the combination of avocado in a burger. I hadn't seen that elsewhere.
I walked right into the burger shop and ordered that Avocado Burger Set without even looking at what other items on offer on the menu.
Since this is considered a gourmet burger shop, the burger was not served immediately. So, I sat around sipping up the milk tea on a separate order.
I also took the waiting time to snap photos around the shop. All the patrons looked happy with their food, so I knew I had not made a wrong choice.
Minutes later, my burger was finally ready. It looked exactly like the food model I saw outside the shop! I really have to admit that the Japanese are the people who deliver almost 100% of what they have promised.
I did not gobble up the burger immediately but I took some time to appreciate the presentation instead. The burger came in two parts. One part is the patty and avocado slices. The other part is the fried egg, lettuce and tomato slices.
When I stacked the two parts together, it became a giant burger! I would say that a burger served with avocado is really refreshing. It cut away the oily taste of the patty compared with an ordinary burger.
This was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted and I should say that I have conquered another good item in my gastronomic adventure.
