Santorini – Almost Heaven: The Cliffs and the Sea in Oia

Oia is basically built by the cliffs of the caldera. The scene of a steep cliff dropping into the deep blue sea is not uncommon. Coupled with the scene of buildings built on and/or hewn into the volcanic rock, what I could only do was just twitching my right index finger on the shutter release button.

My breath was taken away.

It was really fun to rub shoulders with the passersby on the narrow streets.

My breath was taken away, twice!

What kind of life does one have in Oia?

If this is not heaven, where on earth is it?

My breath was taken away, thrice!

This is so surreal!

A work of art is in progress.

Tada~~~ A piece of artwork similar to the painting is out, but not as good as the one by the painter though.

The cutest windmills I have ever seen.

There are not many windmills left in Oia, I saw only three there.

You don't need any other reason than this to visit Oia.

These buildings are gazing at the sea at every moment.

Why can't I stay in Oia forever?

A building hewn into the cliff of the caldera.

If I climb the stairs 10 times everyday, the doctor won't have to advise me to go for brisk walk anymore.

Look at how steep the cliffs are!

My breath was taken away for the fourth time!

Wordless Wednesday – The Sunset at Santubong

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

It's been a while since the last outing with my Jedis. I only managed to get Jedi #002 and Jedi #004 to go with me for the night shoot of the Christmas tree at the Travillion on last Friday. I was told that there's 'snow' at 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., so I asked all the Jedis to be there at 8:00 p.m., in time for the 'snowing' moment. However, the 'snow' didn't come until after 9:30 p.m.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

This must be the nicest Christmas tree in Kuching.

Everrising!

Can you count how many light bulbs are there? There's no prize though.

It got more crowded nearing the time of 'snowing'.

The star of the night.

The shaken Christmas tree.

Getting ready for the 'snow'.

The blurry 'snowing' scene.

It's really 'snowing' in Kuching!

The 'bling bling' rein deers.

Healthcare Brought to the Doorsteps of Kampung Empesak

Date: 20th December, 2007
Place: Kampung Empesak
Project: Rural Outreach
Activity: Christmas party, health screening and donation of necessities

The health screening was made possible by the Sarawak British Alumni Association with the supply of medicine and a few voluntary medical officers. It was all carried out in one of the houses in Kampung Empesak.

Why are all the people swarming to this house?

Lets see what's inside.

Hey, do your work!

The registration of patients in progress.

The patients are waiting for their turn to have a medical check-up.

Take a deep breath.

Doctor, am I alright?

The doctor prescribing medicine to the patient.

Your blood pressure should be alright.

Is it painful over here?

Fill up to this level.

Take two tablets each time, three times a day.
