Santorini – Almost Heaven: The Golden Hour at Fira

The whole Fira town sits on the ridges and the steep cliffs of the collapsed caldera. During the golden hour, the multi-coloured rock layers play the symphony of colours right before our eyes. Coupled with the golden glow of the buildings on the ridges and the steep cliffs dropping into the deep blue sea, it is really a moment not to be missed under the cooling sea breeze.

The panoramic view of Fira during the arrival of the golden hour. Please click on the picture to enlarge.

The clouds have also caught the golden glow.

The multi-coloured rock-encrusted caldera glows under the golden sun.

You can imagine how strong the sea breeze is by looking at the swaying trees.

I stayed at a hotel on the ridges, so it was just a moderated climb for me to the higher area. :)
