Mid-Autumn Festival 2013

Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival according to the Chinese calender. The moon is always full on this day and I didn't miss to capture the round and bright moon just a few minutes ago. I wish all the Chinese a very happy Mid-Autumn day.

The photo above was taken at around 7:30 p.m., and I took another one at around 9:30 p.m. when the moon rose higher which is shown below.

Happy Malaysia Day!

Today, September the 16^th, 2013, marks the 50^th birthday of Malaysia. As the major host city for the celebration, Kuching has many events through these few days, and there was this Victory Flotilla at the Kuching Waterfront, along the Sarawak River last night.

Apart from the flotillas, there were a series of fireworks along the way as well during closing of the event. Although it was a very wet evening, Kuchingites and tourists alike all flocked to the waterfront to witness the boats with blinking bulbs and the fireworks.
