青山岩遊记
I'm inspired to write in Mandarin for my trip to Muara Tebas on the 5th day of Chinese New Year. So, for those who can't read in Mandarin, I hope that you can also enjoy viewing the photos I put up here.
在大年初五那天,我还在放假,所以便约了几位朋到咖啡店喝早茶吃早餐。茶余饭饱之后,有两位还在放假的朋友说要到青山岩看看人潮祭祀神明,拍拍一些照片,所以我也即兴參与了他们。由于他们俩不太熟悉路线,所以我也乐得当他俩的司机。

青山岩距离古晋市区约四十公里左右。开车只需四十五分钟。当天飘着细雨,但是却阻挡不了善男信女的诚心,还是人潮不断,车水马龙,连当地人都设起了路障收‘买路钱’。而我们也需把车泊在远处,步行上青山岩。
在小时候,我以为这是为纪念小叮噹裏的大雄而建的。
香火鼎盛的场面。
佛永远都是那么的慈祥。
每个信徒都在祈愿,我也希望大家的愿望都能实现。
青山岩上的庙宇在当天真的是非常地热闹,上下山的信徒是络绎不绝的。我们一路上山一路拍照,在不知不觉间已抵达了山上的大庙。穿梭在人来人往与香火不断之间,我们也拍了一箩筐的相片。
烟袅袅,心愿了。
这些好像叫做‘长生灯’。
这些应该是‘莲花灯’了吧!
在步出庙宇之前,先帮那门上的铜狮头拍个照吧!
走出庙宇,我们也在四週逛了一会儿,也看了有一百零八种图案的佛陀脚印。走累了,我们便在庙宇的斋堂休息,也拿了一些斋麵和咖啡充饥解渴,希望吃了可保平安。在斋堂裏,也观察到了众生忙里偷闲的情景。
众生皆忙。
红樑托绿瓦。
佛陀的脚印。
斋堂裏的众生相。
"香火不绝烟袅袅,诚心祈愿祝平安,细雨轻飘淀尘埃,伞下伊人展欢颜。"
这四句词,完整地描述了我当天遊青山岩的心情与情境。我希望我的愿望能早日实现,也祝大家一生平安。

Chinese New Year Goodies. Part 4: Cookies and Rolls
There were many goodies in Chinese New Year this year that I happily snap their pictures away while all my family members were busy serving them to the guests.
Cashew nut cookies, one of my favourites.
Salty black sesame cookies.
Heart-shape salty cheese cookies.
Seaweed crisps.
Seaweed rolls with puff rice and pork floss.
Fish floss crispy mini spring rolls.

Chinese New Year Goodies. Part 3: Black Beauties
Cookies that are black in colour are not as appealing as their lighter colour counterparts. However, the strong characteristics of the coffee or chocolate are always very appealing to the gastronomic sense.
Coffee cookies with crushed nuts.
The fragrance of the crushed nuts brings out even more aroma of the coffee.
Chocolate cookies with crushed walnuts.
Nobody could resist the nutty chocolate flavour.

Chinese New Year Goodies. Part 2: Pineapple-jam Tarts
Pineapple tarts have been my favourite cookies since I was young. My house is always filled with loads of pineapple-jam tarts during Chinese New Year as my sister, sister-in-law and my aunt enjoy making them for every Chinese New Year. My sister-in-law makes them for sale too but similar to her layered cakes, you need to make very early booking to get on hold of her pineapple-jam tarts.
There are basically two types of pineapple tarts available at my house. I prefer the type with exposed pineapple jam because I can taste the jam without having to bite into it. The other type has the pineapple jam wrapped inside the pastry for those who likes to have the mixed taste of pastry and pineapple jam.

They are in fact filled with pineapple jam.
You can only taste the pineapple jam after biting into the pastry.
They are so yummy!
