In Japan, most of the restaurants serve teishoku (set meal) with balanced nutrition. For a person who is illiterate in Japanese like me, the easiest to order for a meal is teishoku.
Yakizakana Teishoku (焼魚定食), or grilled fish set meal, is one of the most common set meals available. I had this grilled salmon teishoku at the shokudo (cafeteria) of Saitama University. Teishoku has never failed on my gastronomic adventure in Japan.
