One of the best vantage points for viewing the night scene of Taipei has got to be the hill behind the Chinese Culture University (中國文化大學) at Yangmingshan (陽明山). There are several restaurants and cafes lining the ridge of the hill overlooking the basin of Taipei City.
The Taipei 101 building is also visible from here, but it takes a telephoto lens of 200 mm to have these shots. Don't forget to bring your longest telephoto lens with you to have a decent shot of this building.
Other than The Taipei 101 building, the relatively smaller buildings blend in well with the street lights, making them interesting to be viewed at night. This place is definitely well worth a visit if you enjoy night scene.
