'The Sound of Music' is perhaps the most successful film musical adapted from a stage musical thus far. The film that won five Academy Awards starring Julie Andrews is still running popular today since its first screening in 1965.
One of the scenes in 'The Sound of Music' film was filmed at the Mirabell Garden where it has become one of the destinations for those who are on the pilgrimage of visiting the filming locations. Despite the fame from the film musical, Mirabell is in itself a beautiful garden. It is a fairy-tale garden in the heart of the city of Salzburg. Unfortunately it was drizzling during our visit, but that didn't stop us from admiring all corners of the garden with intricately created flower beds, statues, trees and landscapes.
