Wonderful macro shots, good for a science book.

Very sculptural guy -- he doesn't make me in the mood to mate, however.

I half expected to see a shot of you being swallowed up, the way it's looking at you and then it's fore arms reaching out... It appears almost dragon like with all it's leafy looking armor.

Is that a stick insect? Really good captures.

It is a wandering violin mantis. It is also called Indian rose mantis. :)

Wow! Great shots... although I feel like I am about to be eaten lol

That's quite an insect. It's a good think they aren't big enough to be a problem, except to other bugs.

You've done a great job with a pretty scary looking critter.

Awesome pictures!!! We were just watching a documentary about the Praying Mantis ('mamboretá', as we called them in my native Argentina) on Sunday and we were amazed at the many different types there are and how stunningly beautiful they are... if you're looking at them with the eyes of an entomologist! :-)

My WW post, here

This is from planet earth? What an unusual looking creature. Blends in with its surroundings, but even if seen, who would want to eat it?
