Last weekend, Sony Malaysia came over to Kuching to conduct portraiture workshops for two consecutive days. Since I was free for both days, I attended both workshops. The first workshop on Saturday was conducted at the Sony Centre where only four participants turned up. Therefore, we had more chance to shoot for each participant and more time to get shooting tips from the instructor. Although the workshop was named 'CNY Portrait with Sony Alpha,' the outfit of the model had nothing to do with CNY. However, we still had an enjoyable session.
The second workshop on Sunday was conducted at Great Wall Photo Co. where more then twenty participants turned up. The them of the workshop was 'Portraiture Workshop with Sony A7II,' which is self-explanatory that the event was to promote the Sony A7 Mark II camera with 5-axis stabilisation. Therefore, we tried to shoot with the camera under dim light. The in-camera stabilisation worked very well as most of my shots taken with 2-stop below the safe shutter speed were still sharp. It is a great camera. If I have not bought the A7R, I may dive in to this camera.
