The USS Missouri was an Iowa-class fast battleship launched on 29th January 1944. Nicknamed "Mighty Mo" or "Big Mo," it was best remembered as the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan that brought World War II to an end on 2nd September 1945. She is now on permanent display as a museum ship at the Battleship Missouri Memorial at the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites.
On the deck of the ship are gun turrets which are the main weaponry of the battleship. Numerous kamikaze aircrafts had been downed by these guns.
The bridge is open to the visitors too. From here one can experience the view of the admiral of the ship when he command the ship to the battlefield.
The inside of the ship is full of spaces for work, eat and sleep. And of course there are some spaces to play.
She is now retired and permanently anchored at the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites since 1998 so that her glorious moments are always remembered.
